Jake Morgan

Jake was born in St. Louis, Missouri and played football and baseball growing up. He played college baseball and graduated from Southeast Missouri State. During college he was introduced to a very unique training style from world renown strength coach Charles Poliquin. This changed everything for him. These teachings would provide the foundation for what Cave Fit Club would become.
In his free time he likes to ride motorcycles, film and edit videos, travel the world, and try new coffee shops and restaurants with his fiancé. His favorite team is the St. Louis Cardinals, and one unique fact about him is that he is a licensed skydiver, and has flown a wingsuit a handful of times.
His favorite exercises are the front squat and the dip. What brings him the most joy when training clients is when he can give someone a coaching cue that completely changes the feeling of an exercise, for the better. He says “Each person moves a bit different, and thinks a bit different, so finding the words and cues that work for someone can be a challenge at times. But once the client has that “ah-ha” moment it’s like they finally feel exactly what they should be feeling on that exercise, and it makes you feel like you actually made an impact on that person”
One has to go forever, which one? Pizza, Sushi, Wings, or Tacos? I’d have to go with wings, only because there aren’t that many wing restaurants, and I could still make some buffalo chicken thighs.

Head Trainer & Operations Manager: Meghan Gonzalez
Head Trainer & Operations Manager: Meghan Gonzalez

Meghan grew up in Allen, TX and graduated from Texas A&M University. She was very athletic growing up, with soccer being her favorite sport. She has a daughter named Kenna, and a Golden Retriever named Delta.
In her free time she likes trying new restaurants, traveling, shopping, sitting on a patio with a glass of wine and hanging out with friends, family, and her puppy. She enjoys living a healthy lifestyle, watching football (go Aggies and Cowboys!), and dad jokes.
Her two favorite exercises are the glute bridge (to build the 🍑), and the back squat (makes her feel like a badass to squat heavy). Conditioning wise, she loves the competitive races we do periodically here at the gym. She says “The energy in the gym is unmatched when you’re racing and you hear your teammates cheering you and others on.”
When training members, it brings her the most joy watching and helping people achieve their health / fitness / PR goals. She said “It’s very rewarding knowing that we help people be the best versions of themselves everyday.”
One has to go forever, which one? Pizza, Sushi, Wings, or Tacos? 100% Wings

Associate Trainer: Rene Hernandez

Rene was born in El Paso and grew up in Carrollton where he played football, track, and cross country. He is married to his middle school sweetheart and they have a daughter, as well as an Australian Shepard name Neo.
In his free time he likes to get outside with his family – basketball, baseball, hikes and dog walks, or just getting into some sort of body of water.
When it comes to fitness, some of his favorite exercises are the bench press for the pump, and deadlift for feeling strong. When it comes to conditioning his favorite is the Farmer Walks. We asked him “What brings you the most joy when training someone?” and he said “Whether it be just that one extra rep, or getting a movement down for the first time, I get joy from the small victories.”
Besides fitness he enjoys drawing, painting, and reading.

Associate Trainer: Leo Flores
Associate Trainer: Leo Flores

Leo was born in Dallas and grew up in Garland where he played baseball, soccer, football, and currently plays sand/beach volleyball competitively. He doesn’t have any pets at the moment but is a huge dog lover.
He graduated from Penn State University, and also attended the National Personal Training Institute and he’s a NASM-certified Personal Trainer.
In his free time he says that ”I’m on a mission to live every day to the fullest and learn as much as possible, so I hang out with my kiddos or friends, play music, play volleyball, practice German, and sometimes do puzzles.”
When it comes to fitness, some of his favorite exercises are the Strict Muscle Ups on rings because of the sheer amount of core and upper body control required, as well as the Bulgarian Split Squats because he enjoys the burn and can feel the quad engagement. When it comes to conditioning he enjoys a variety of SAQ ranging from sprints to broad jumps to depth jumps to sled drags.
We asked him “What brings you the most joy when training someone?” and he said “When a client goes from lacking confidence in the gym to telling me they feel comfortable working out alone in public while even offering assistance and queues to others. The point of self efficacy.”
Something unique you may not know about him is that he loves playing the drums and guitar, and riding his bike(s). He spent 12 years in the US Marines, so he loves that there is a sense of camaraderie at Cave Fit Club. He said he also enjoys when he can push himself, or when a client is willing to push themselves past their known limits to reach their goals. He’s also a certified 500-hour YTT Yoga Teacher, and he added “I enjoy the introspection and mindfulness that yoga helps me reach, while also challenging me physically.”
One has to go forever, which one? Pizza, Sushi, Wings, or Tacos? It’s a trick question – everything in moderation 🙂
